How To Rent A Bus For A Week
How to Save Money on Group Tours with a Charter Bus Service
It’s time to make travel plans for your large group or club, and you have been tasked with this responsibility. Your group could fly, go by train, carpool caravan-style, or charter a bus rental. You must find the best mode of transportation, without breaking the bank.
How to Save Money on Your Group Tours
If you have been assigned to handling travel arrangements for your group, you know even the best-laid plans can experience a hiccup or two.
You may have figured traveling by a group bus rental might be the most cost-effective route, and may be considering planes, trains, and automobiles as other viable options. But what about convenience and affordability?
1. Traveling by Plane
A charter bus rental will be perfect to solve the logistics of getting everyone to the airport on time.
There’s another fact to consider – travelers within the United State are required to have a “Real ID”. According to US Travel, 99 million Americans lack the proper identification to travel by plane. There may be someone in your group without the right identification.
The cost of air travel may also be steep for the entire group. According to Inc, traveling by air is the most expensive mode of transportation. Cost alone is a good reason not to choose this travel option.
2. Going by Train
Trains are another choice of transportation, and can even be cost-effective. Still, you’ll need to get everyone to the train station on time.
While going by train may offer similar benefits to a group bus rental, such as cost-efficiency, it lacks the ease of usage, which can take all the fun out of traveling.
3. Carpool Caravan Style
There are a few benefits to carpooling. Freedom in travel, choosing your own route, and having a personal vehicle with you on your trip are a few. However, you do sacrifice safety and potentially reliability when driving multiple vehicles on the road.
Carpooling with a caravan is an option, but not cost-effective, and it’s also risky.
4. Bus Rentals
After weighing all your options, and factoring all the risks along with the benefits, it makes sense to choose a bus rental for your travel plans in a large group. Safety, cost-efficiency, reliability, and comfortability. These are only a few perks of group bus rentals, the list goes on.
The question is which charter service is the one for you?
What to Consider When Choosing a Charter Bus Service
You have determined that a bus rental is best for your large group, and now you must find the right one. Safety, reliability, and affordability are just a few of the things to consider.
1. Safety
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) gives a safety score to all commercial motorcoach companies. Atlantic Coast Charters has the highest score given by the FMCSA, with zero accidents reported in the last 24 months, as of November 2020.
Knowing your group will be safe in the care of experienced drivers offers you the peace of mind knowing that you have made the right choice.
2. Reliability
It’s not just important that you get there safely, it’s also important that you get there on time. Reliability is one of our top priorities when it comes to customer satisfaction.
Here at Atlantic Coast Charters, our well-maintained vehicles ensure your group will arrive on time, every time.
3. Affordability
Falling within your budget for travel is also vital. This can give you more for other fun activities during your trip. Our competitive pricing and incentive programs help save you even more on your travels with us, now and in the future.

How to Plan a Charter Bus Trip with Young Children
Traveling with young children is challenging. You have to ensure they are safe, comfortable, and enjoying the entire time.
Unlike adults who can control emotions, children need an outlet for their high energy and are less capable of exercising emotional restraint. Your transportation options include private cars, planes, and charter buses.
With big groups, charter bus rentals for family trips are safe, economical, and convenient.
Planning a Bus Trip with Young Children
When traveling with younger children, you must plan things ahead of time. You always have to consider that kids tend to be restless. Make sure that you have everything mapped out, including breaks.
To learn more about planning a bus trip with younger children, here are a few tips to consider.
Pick a Destination
Planning largely depends on your selected destination. Are you traveling to a remote alpine village or the nearby seaside resort city? Are the roads long and winding, or mostly flat and paved?
The route and travel time will affect your choice of transportation. If you are heading on to a long journey, you are wise to book family bus rentals to ensure comfortable seating for all.
Also, pack food and schedule stops for restroom breaks.
Check the Weather
Schedule your trip around the weather because you do not want to risk your family’s safety.
You do not stressed-out children on a trip making it difficult to drive and adding to other immediate concerns. Bad weather also delays rescue in the event your car breaks down.
It is also important to check the weather forecast at your destination.
Define Your Passengers
How young are the kids? How many family members will join the trip? Is there anyone in the group who is motion-sensitive? When describing your passengers, be as detailed as possible.
Include their age, medical history, travel-related sensitivities, seating preferences, food allergies, and even the amount of luggage they usually bring. The task is painstaking, but it will significantly reduce your stress.
Doing so will also help you make more informed decisions. Say, if you have more than ten people in the group, all bringing their ski equipment, then you know for sure that you need roomy transportation. In this case, bus rentals for family trips will prove valuable.
Pack the Essentials
Regardless of the distance, you need to leave room for trip essentials– medicine, food and water, batteries (bring extra), toiletries, and extra clothing. Even if the trip is not an overnight stay, extra clothing and toiletries are useful when kids are around.
Medicines, toys (or other entertainment options), and snacks are essential luggage loads for kids, too. You never know when your 7-year-old son will get bored, or your 3-year-old daughter will get an upset stomach.
Travel essentials also vary depending on your activity. Bring puff jackets when skiing, swimsuits when hitting the beach, and picnic blankets when camping in summer.
The Convenience of Traveling with Atlantic Coast Charters
It is vital to plan for travel contingencies when kids are on board – car breakdowns, medical concerns, potty breaks, and slow pacing, to name a few. With Atlantic Coast Charters, we ensure the comforts of our passengers regardless of age.
Our company is flexible and takes into consideration the uniqueness of each situation. We assure you that you and your children will enjoy the holiday.

How to Plan Your Next Company Outing
Planning corporate outings for your team to participate in can have a huge impact on your workplace dynamics and productivity.
Bringing everyone together to share in an activity will result in better mental health, stronger connections, and cooperation. Your employees will get a chance to connect outside of a work setting and share in new and fun experiences. This adds a whole new dimension to the relationships they build and brings them back to work feeling reconnected to one another and to your corporate goals.
Your employees may also learn new skills and concepts to apply to their projects.
3 Steps for Planning a Great Company Outing
Company outings come in all shapes and sizes. What you decide to plan will depend on the needs and interests of your team.
Use this easy 3-step process as a guide to make your next company outing an enjoyable and rewarding experience for everyone:
1. Decide on the purpose of your event
Whether you are looking to build cooperation and communication or give your employees a much-deserved break from a big project, determining the exact purpose of your company outing will help you to decide what kind of activity to plan.
One CEO suggests that your corporate event needs to be a brand experience. Choose an activity that builds upon your existing company culture and supports your corporate values.
Here are a few ideas for the types of outings that you can plan:
- Something challenging: Escape room, scavenger hunt
- Something adventurous: Ziplining, paintball
- Something educational: Development workshop, improv lesson
- Something relaxing: Yoga retreat, company barbeque
- Something beneficial: Volunteering, off-site brainstorming session
- Something fun: Sporting event, trivia night
2. Pick a venue and schedule a date
Once you have decided on what kind of activity you want to plan for your team, you need to find a venue that can accommodate a group of your size.
When it comes to selecting a time and location, it is important to consider convenience. If you want a casual event that can accommodate family members, look for a central location that everyone can access and schedule it on a weekend when people are more likely to be free. If, alternatively, you want to focus more on team building, it is better to make the event part of your workweek.
3. Make a day of it
Since the purpose of a company outing is to bring everyone together, try planning the whole day around the activity to keep everyone connected and sustain the experience.
Using group transportation, such as renting a coach bus, will allow your team to stay together throughout the day. It is also more efficient than trying to organize rides or asking people to commute to a new location. Plus, booking the transportation helps you to create a schedule for the day without worrying about your employees getting lost or stuck in traffic.
Plan a meal as well. This is a great way to let everyone come together and debrief after you have finished your activity.
Book a Charter Bus for Your Next Company Outing
Renting a coach bus is a great way to bring your team together for a corporate outing. A charter bus rental will eliminate stress for you, the organizer, as well as your attendees by simplifying the transportation situation. It will also set the right tone for your gathering by further fostering relationship building.
Atlantic Coast Charters will get you where you want to go. All you have to do is bring everyone together, book your bus, and enjoy a unique work experience.
Tips for Long Bus Rides
Whether you’re taking a charter bus for business or pleasure, sometimes the trip can be a long one. If you’re planning an upcoming long bus ride, we can help!
Make the most of your long charter bus ride with these tips from our team of experts!
Plan ahead:
While picking your bus company, be sure to ask all your questions ahead of time so you can pick the right option for you and know what to expect before you go. Also, make sure to discuss all planned stops, timing, and other logistical details ahead of time.
Be sure to find out details like – What are the amenities on the bus? How many passengers can it hold, and what is it like inside? Are there outlets, wifi access, etc? Know your needs and preferences ahead of time, and make sure you’re choosing a charter bus company that is the right fit for you and your group!
Pack smart:
For a long bus ride, make sure you pack everything you need to stay comfortable and entertained! We suggest packing some options and layers of clothing, for example, you might want to pack a sweater or sweatshirt in case you get cold during the ride.
If you’ll be on the bus overnight or just think you’ll want to nap during the ride, consider a neck pillow, eye mask, ear plugs, and even a lightweight blanket to help you rest while on board.
Our charter buses have wifi and TVs with DVD/CD players, so plan accordingly to help keep yourself and your group entertained! Feel free to bring laptops, tablets, movies, music, games, cards, books, and more with you to help make the trip go by quicker. Be sure to remember all the necessary chargers, headphones, and other accessories.
Don’t forget to pack snacks, water, and more to take with you on your ride!
Take breaks:
Just because you’re on a charter bus for a long time doesn’t mean you can’t make stops, get off at a rest stop, and walk around a bit! Stretch your legs and get in a short break or two from the road to stay refreshed on longer trips.
Things to Consider Before Renting a Charter Bus
Charter Buses have always been a popular transportation option for group events. Regardless if it is a family gathering, educational excursion, or company getaway, bus rental services can take you to your destination comfortably.
Renting a bus is a convenient and practical option for transporting groups. Charter buses are spacious and airy enough to allow big groups to move around and prevent injuries related to crowding. With high ceilings, extra legroom, and luggage shelves, buses have ergonomically designed features that keep passengers comfortable.
What to Consider Before Renting a Bus
If you are organizing an activity where you expect many participants, renting out a bus is convenient as it can accommodate many people in one ride. But like any other decision, renting a bus entails consideration.
Bus Route
Some routes are inaccessible by bus. Before booking anything, you must make sure that all roads to your destination are wide enough to accommodate the size of the bus.
Also, you need to check if buses are allowed entry in your city or neighborhood. You do not want your guests to walk halfway through to your house or any venue because of road restrictions
Schedule
Decide whether you want the passengers to meet at a designated pick-up location or be collected individually from their residence. You need to communicate the arrangement with the bus company in advance. This information helps form the itinerary, which helps keep track of time and avoid excess hours added to your bill.
Passengers
Consider your passengers’ profile when hiring a bus. Are they mostly children? Do they have disabilities that require special bus features or services? Does your trip entail eating, and if so, will the bus allow it? Most importantly, how many passengers are there?
Buses vary in size, features, and engine performance. A typical charter bus can carry about 47 to 56 passengers, whereas a minibus has roughly 18 to 32 seats. If you have children on board or persons with disabilities, your bus needs to have accessibility features like a ramp and a designated wheelchair area.
These details help ensure a safe and comfortable journey for everyone.
Bus Types
The purpose of your trip largely determines the bus type you will rent. A city tour will require provisions for microphones and sightseeing similar to those found in a double-deck bus.
A long journey needs charging ports and luggage racks, while an overnight trip demands the comforts of a sleeper bus, including a toilet. A road party will enjoy an entertainment bus with a sound system performance platform. Purpose and passenger profile always go together when deciding to hire a bus.
Driver Experience
Every bus company strives to keep a fleet of well-maintained vehicles and a staff of highly skilled drivers. Nevertheless, as a client, you can ask for more information about the driver, such as familiarity with the terrain, knowledge about the destination’s traffic rules, and years of experience in driving overnight trips. For safety and comfort, you must know the relevant questions to ask about the driver.
Cost
Budget is always a consideration when hiring rental vehicles. You will find yourself letting go of some comforts to suit your personal or organization’s budget. For example, you may forego a bus toilet feature and instead schedule restroom stopovers in the itinerary to hire multiple buses for over a hundred participants.
Quality Standards for Bus Rentals
Looking for a bus rental that provides high-quality standards is challenging. With Atlantic Coast Charters, our company does not only offer superior service, but we ensure that our customers are satisfied with their experience.

Avoid Boredom on a Charter Bus for a School Field Trip with Fun Games
Field trips are a highlight for many children. Oftentimes, though, the bus ride to their destination is not.
Long rides on a charter bus for a school field trip can bore kids and fray the nerves of teachers and parents.
Thankfully, there’s a way to reduce – or even prevent – having to hear “are we there yet” even once during your trip: fun bus activities and games.
You Can Have Fun on a Charter Bus for a School Field Trip – Enjoyable Games and Activities
The next time you charter a bus for a school field trip, consider adding these games and activities to your itinerary. They’ll make the ride more manageable for kids, teachers, and parents.
1. I Spy
Yes, this one is an oldie but goodie, especially if you’re on a field trip bus rental with younger kids. The game keeps their minds engaged, distracting them from the time it’s taking to get from point A to point B.
Everyone can get a turn, too. One person starts, perhaps the teacher, and says, “I Spy with my little eye” before naming a clue.
Each kid gets a turn to guess. The person who guesses correctly gets the opportunity to be the next spy.
2. Green Glass Door
Riddles can be a fun way to pass the time. Green Glass Door is a fun, mind-bending game.
You start by telling the group you’re taking something (say an object) through a Green Glass Door. Everyone else must do so, too. The goal of the game is to figure out “what” is allowed through the door.
For example, “I can bring a mitten through the door but not a glove.”
Eventually, more and more people will catch on that the things that can pass through the Green Glass Door are double-lettered words (Example: kitten vs. cat).
Every time someone doesn’t guess a double-lettered word, they’re out, or they can keep trying until they figure it out – in the proper order of students, of course.
3. Trivia Games
Come up with questions and answers before the trip.
The kids can participate alone, or you can pair them up. For every right answer, they get a point.
4. The Name Game
Starting with the letter A, think of a name.
The next person says the A-name and then comes up with a B-name. The third person repeats the A- and B-names and comes up with a C-name and so on.
The goal is to try to remember as many names as possible. Anyone who forgets one of the names is out.
5. Famous People Name Game
Another fun name game is one in which the first person calls out the name of a celebrity.
The next person must come up with the name of another celebrity based on the last letter of the previous celebrity.
For example, if the first person says “Selena Gomez,” the next person would have to figure out the name of a celebrity that starts with a Z, like “Zendaya.”
Field Trip Bus Rental Amenities Add to the Fun
Need a solution for those kids who aren’t amused by bus games or when everyone wants to take a break from the games?
Each charter bus for a school field trip comes equipped with amenities to make your trip even better.
- Free Wi-Fi: Essential for scrolling social media or playing online games

Looking for Eco Friendly Group Travel? Rent a Charter Bus!
These days, more companies than ever are trying to be more eco-friendly, especially when it comes to corporate travel and events. If you’re planning a company outing, group trip, or other event this year, you may be considering several options. While there are plenty of transportation options, and it might seem easiest to have everyone take their own cars, be sure to also consider the environmental impacts of your options!
Are Charter Bus Rentals Eco-Friendly?
While at first you might not think “environmentally friendly” when you hear “bus rentals”, but in fact, charter buses are more energy efficient than many other transportation options. For example, if the alternative is that everyone in your group is driving their own cars, or carpooling with another person or two, those additional vehicles add up to increase CO2 emissions and other toxins being released into the air. Since our charter buses can accommodate 34, 47, or 55 passengers each, think of the amount of cars that can be avoided for each event or trip!
Many studies over the years have shown that buses are more eco-friendly and energy efficient than typical passenger cars, and even trains. It’s also been found that travelling by bus is more “green” than air travel. According to EarthTalk.org “a couple can cut their travel carbon emissions in half by boarding a motor coach instead of taking their Prius. “And if they take the motor coach rather than flying, they will cut their emissions by 55 to 75 percent, depending on the distance they travel.”
Other Amenities and Benefits of Charter Buses
In addition to these eco-friendly benefits, charter bus rentals offer convenience and comfort to company outings and group trips that other forms of transportation can’t match. For example, if the group is all driving themselves or carpooling, then there are a number of cars and drivers that might be at different stages of the trip at different points, might be getting lost, having car troubles, etc. It can be harder to plan and manage the whole group at once if everyone is separated during transportation. With a charter bus, however, the group can all be in one or several buses together, with comfortable seating, restrooms, WIFI, TVs, and more. Passengers can relax on their way to the event or trip rather than worrying about driving, directions, traffic, or other hassles.

4 Charter Bus Travel Tips
If you’re considering renting a charter bus for the first time, or already have an upcoming charter bus trip coming up, you might be wondering what to expect or how to make the most of your trip. To make the experience as enjoyable as possible, we’ve put together these charter bus travel tips for your group! No matter the size of your group or the nature of your bus trip, these tips apply!
Top 4 Charter Bus Travel Tips:
1. Choose the right charter bus company for your needs
With so many transportation options available today, make sure you plan accordingly and choose the right charter bus company for your needs! How big is your group? What is your budget? How many stops are there along the way? Many details go into planning a group bus trip, and the answers to these questions are crucial to know beforehand. Make sure to ask your charter bus company these questions, request a quote, and learn more about the bus options and amenities ahead of time. For example, do all of their buses have WIFI? Restrooms? The more you know ahead of time, the better!
2. Plan entertainment ahead of time
Since your charter bus should offer TV monitors with DVD and CD capabilities, as well as wifi connection, you can always plan out some entertainment options for your group ahead of time. Maybe there is a movie that everyone can watch together during the trip? Or, a few CDs that can be put on in the background? Having the appropriate entertainment planned out ahead of time can help make the time go faster and be a more enjoyable experience for everyone, especially if it’s a longer trip.
3. Relax, or get some work done
If you’re travelling for a corporate trip or work event, some passengers might want to sit back and relax while others might want to get work done during the trip. With WIFI and outlets, as well as plenty of space on the bus, it is easy to accommodate everyone’s preferences and needs during the bus trip. Keep in mind these needs when booking the trip, and you’ll save yourself some time and stress later! For example, our 34 person bus has a lounge area with comfortable sofa seating for up to 7 adult passengers. If certain members of the group will want to work in a separate section of the bus, for example, amenities such as this can come in handy!
4. Pack accordingly
No matter the purpose of your charter bus trip, there are several things that we think can be packed to make any bus trip more enjoyable! Here are some ideas of what to pack for your group charter bus trip:
- Neck pillow & eye mask if you are planning on trying to sleep during the trip
- Headphones – so you can enjoy your music or other entertainment without disturbing passengers around you
- Chargers – all of our buses come equipped with 110v outlets, so you can charge your laptops, phone, and other electronic devices
- Games, cards, books, movies, etc. – again, planning your entertainment ahead of time is helpful!

5 Reasons to Rent a Bus for Wedding Transportation
Are you planning a wedding? There are lots of details to consider when planning a wedding, and transportation for your guests is one of them. Whether guests will need transportation from the hotel to the ceremony and reception, or if you will also need transportation from the ceremony location to the reception, a charter bus is the easiest way to make sure all guests arrive safely, together, on time! Still unsure? Here are 5 key benefits you enjoy when you rent a bus for wedding transportation.
1. Take the Worry Out of Making it to Events on Schedule
Though a wedding day is a celebratory occasion, it can bring with it certain stressful moments. One of those stressful moments can come when a member of your wedding party gets lost on the way to the reception or even the ceremony! It can delay an event and result in a lot of embarrassment. One way to avoid this stress is to rent a bus for the wedding day. Your experienced driver knows where your wedding party is going ahead of time. Most importantly, your driver knows the best way to get there so you’re right on time.
2. Enjoy a Safe Ride
Some of the members of your wedding party may be having some drinks at the reception, and may become too intoxicated to drive. Having a bus ready to transport all of the guests back to their hotels is the best way to prevent any potentially dangerous drunk driving situation. Guests can enjoy themselves, celebrate, and not have to worry about driving themselves afterwards.
3. Keep Your Wedding Party Together for the Celebrations
Riding on your bus with every member of your wedding party makes it convenient to share any last-minute details with them. You can make sure everyone is dressed appropriately, everyone has a bouquet or boutonniere, etc. Plus, you can speak to each member of the wedding party privately if you want to, and they can share their good wishes with you and your soon-to-be spouse. Being together with friends allows you to enjoy your special day all the more.
4. Save on Parking Fees or Ride Sharing
If everyone in your wedding party has his or her own car, that can add up to a lot of parking fees if your wedding is in a city. They may have to park in a special lot or next to a parking meter. Or, if guests are travelling from out of area and don’t have their own cars, they’ll be forced to pay to rent cars or depend on ride sharing apps to get them to each destination in time. But, if you provide them with wedding transportation in the form of a bus, no one will have to pay to park or pay for their individual rides! Just imagine how nice it will be for the guests to walk straight from the curb into the church, rented hall or other wedding venue.
5. Be Environmentally Friendly
With a chartered bus as your wedding transportation, your guests and members of your wedding party are leaving their cars and trucks at home which means they won’t be on the road releasing exhaust. You’re ride sharing with your wedding party and enjoying a comfortable ride in the process!
If you’re looking for transportation that’s both unique and convenient on your wedding day, take a look at our fleet of buses. We have just what you and your guests are looking for! Contact the friendly staff at our Atlantic Coast Charters offices to learn more about how we can handle the transportation on your wedding day!
The Top 5 Benefits of Renting a Charter Bus for Your Next Outing
Hiring a charter bus offers ideal amenities and pleasure for your next group trip. The group can travel together with the ability to consistently be in communication with one another. You can plan to hire a charter bus for a group outing of any form, including weddings, corporate events, and school field trips.
Still on the fence? Here are 5 key benefits of renting a charter bus for your next group outing!
1. Charter Buses are Comfortable and Spacious
Being cramped in a car or on a plane is uncomfortable for anyone. With a charter bus, there are many comforts available. The seats have ample spacing in between rows, allowing you to stretch your legs, and most seats on charter buses are able to recline. You also have the ability to stretch while riding a charter bus by getting up and walking around or simply standing in place, unlike a car. Charter buses offer maximum comfort for every rider in ensuring a pleasurable trip for all.
2. Charter Buses Have Great Amenities
Most charter buses offer bathrooms for the passengers’ convenience and use during the trip. When traveling by car, a bathroom is not an option unless you are traveling in a camper or unless you pull over somewhere. Other amenities include television screens and monitors being placed throughout the bus for viewing purposes and entertainment for the journey. Many vehicles do not offer movie screens, especially when you are traveling by an older model of a vehicle. These added amenities make the trips taken by charter bus much more enjoyable and entertaining.
3. Charter Buses are Safe
Safety and security of the passengers on charter buses are of top priority. Every driver of the charter bus is appropriately trained to help passengers to arrive at their destinations safely and securely. Each vehicle is required to undergo routine inspection according to the state laws to ensure the charter bus is able to safely carry passengers. Every piece of equipment on the bus is checked in order to help passengers feel more secure about a safe journey. Charter buses are at the top of the line in transportation offerings based on safety and security.
4. Charter Buses are Surprisingly Affordable for Groups
Everyone knows that plane tickets can be very expensive. Gas prices for individual vehicles can also be very expensive. That makes charter bus rental a great, and often very affordable, option for groups. Riding a charter bus as a group will also assist in saving on other traveling expenses as well. These other expenses could include parking fees, toll fees, and mechanical fees if there were to be a breakdown. You save many extra costs that many individuals do not even think about when traveling by charter bus. Learn more about the factors that influence the cost of charter bus rental, or get a quote online today!
5. Riding a Charter Bus is More Flexible and Less Stressful
Charter buses have the ability to make stops, and customize your travel plans more than you’d be able to when traveling by plane or other options. When riding by cars as a group, it is also difficult to keep track of everyone and ensure that the group remains together. Individuals can also lose the group and possibly miss planes in airports, as well. Charter buses allow the opportunity for the entire group to board and exit the event or stop together. The bus will not leave until everyone is accounted for.
Choosing to rent a charter bus for your next group outing has many benefits from offering added safety and togetherness to the many amenities the bus offers. Atlantic Coast Charters offer charter bus services in Maryland to fit all of your needs. Contact us today to rent a charter bus for your next group outing.

How To Charter A Bus: Tips To Help You Pick A Bus Company
Chartering a bus is a great way to travel with your group. Whether it’s a family reunion, birthday celebration or your club’s annual event, riding on a chartered bus together is a seamless way to get to your destination. Chartered buses are safe and cost-effective, and you won’t have to worry about parking when you get there. You can relax and enjoy the ride.
There are a lot of charter bus companies in Maryland, and it can be hard to know which one will be right for your group. When you ask the right questions, finding the perfect match is easy. Here are the topics you’ll want to ask about when it comes to how to charter a bus:
– Cost
– Safety
– Amenities
Cost
When shopping for a charter bus package, most people want to know how much it will cost. This is a valid question of course, but it’s important not to pick the charter bus simply because it has the lowest price. There may be a reason that it’s less costly than other companies, so do your research just to be safe.
Every professional charter bus company should provide you with a quote that includes how you’ll be charged, either by mileage or by hours. If it’s an overnight bus charter, ask whether you’ll be charged for the driver’s accommodations. You’ll want to discuss whether there are any additional fees so you’re not surprised when you get the final bill. Ask about cancellation fees, deposit information and what the company’s refund policies are. Remember, knowledge is power when it comes to finding the best charter bus company.
Safety
Safety is always a concern when you’re hiring any professional driving company. Ask how long the company has been in business, and do your research online to check for complaints against the company. Every driver should have a valid CDL, and should never drive longer than 10 hours each day. The customer service agent should be able to provide you with the maintenance records for the charter bus you’ll be hiring.
Amenities
Part of the fun of renting a charter bus is that you get to ride in luxury. Depending on the needs of your group you can rent a bus with disabled access, bathrooms, Wi-fi, televisions and reclining seats for the ultimate in comfort. When you’re discussing the price of the charter bus rental, ask what amenities are included in the quote.
Now that you know how to charter a bus, what are you waiting for? Get ready for an exciting journey with your group and rent your charter bus today. Get a quote today to get started!

Charter Bus Rental Pricing: 4 Factors That Determine Your Cost
When your group wants to travel in style without breaking the bank, consider a charter bus rental service. Charter buses are simpler than driving, calmer than flying, and more flexible than taking the train. Most people, though, will ask, “How much does it cost to rent a charter bus?” Read on. You may discover that charter bus rental pricing offers a better value than you thought.
The best way to determine the price for your specific bus rental is to get a quote. However, if you want to get a rough idea before getting in touch with us, the following factors can help you estimate how much you might pay to rent a charter bus.
Where To?
The primary factor in charter bus rental pricing is your destination. The farther you travel, the more time and mileage will add up. Depending on the type of rental and the destination, your type of price estimates might differ. In-town trips might be charged by the hour, while multi-day excursions could incur either a per-day or per-mile charge. Local tours spanning a few days are generally priced by the day. Take a look at some of our charter bus trip ideas to get an idea of distance and timing of trips within our service area.
When?
The time of year you choose to travel can greatly impact the cost to rent a charter bus. For example, rental prices can tend to be lower in mid-summer (fewer school field trips) and mid-winter (higher chance of poor weather). During the higher-demand spring season, you can expect that pricing might be a bit higher as well.
How Many?
The number of travelers in your group will affect charter bus rental pricing. Bus companies maintain a variety of fleet vehicles to accommodate groups of any size. More people traveling means needing a larger coach bus. If your group is large, like for example if you’re transporting all of your employees to an event, you may even need more than one bus to carry everyone in your group (and their luggage). Renting the right size vehicle for your group keeps you from paying for empty seats. At Atlantic Coast Charters, our charter bus sizes range from buses that fit 34 to 55 people each.
Who’s Up Front?
The safety of your group depends on the alertness of your charter bus driver. By law, a driver can only drive for 10 hours at a time, after which he or she must take a rest break of at least 8 hours. If your trip requires more than 10 hours of driving, a second driver may be required; this will increase the cost of your rental. Overnight excursions often factor in the cost of a hotel room for the driver as well.
As mentioned above, the best estimate of your Maryland charter bus costs will come from a customized estimate based on your plans, group size, timing, destination, and other factors. However, we hope this helps shed some light on what goes into the cost of your trip so you can have a better idea of what to expect! To get started with your charter bus cost estimate, simply fill out our quick and easy contact form!
What Is A Charter Bus?
A charter bus is a motorcoach that an organization, company, or group of people can hire for transportation. When you hire a charter bus company, you have your own driver that will take you directly to your location or series of locations. Charter buses are extremely popular for a variety of purposes and events, including:
- -Weddings
- -Corporate events
- -Family reunions
- -Day trips to casinos or a show
- -Day trips to a city
- -Sports team travel
- -School field trips
- -Senior citizen outings
- -Church events
- -Prom transportation
- -Military and/or government travel
Charter buses are often preferred for these purposes over other types of transportation like trains or airplanes, since they are much more comfortable, can easily accommodate varying group sizes, and can even be more affordable. Charter buses come in multiple size options. For example, we have buses that accommodate 34, 47, and 55 total passengers. That way, all of the members of your group can be easily and conveniently transported together.
Our buses also come fully loaded with many amenities to make your trip as comfortable and convenient as possible. All of our buses have reclining seats, free wifi, power outlets, onboard restrooms, storage compartments and more. Wheelchair accessibility is also available upon request.
A charter bus rental in Maryland and the surrounding area will differ in cost based on a variety of factors. For example, your destination, group size, time of year, and other factors. The best way to understand your pricing options is to get a quote. Before you talk to a local charter bus company, be sure to have a few key details already figured out about your trip. For example, make sure to know the starting point of your trip, the names or any additional destinations or stops you’ll be making, the date(s) and approximate time(s), the number of passengers, as well as any other additional or special requests like wheelchair accessibility needs. Then, you can get a better idea of what to expect from your charter bus rental.
